HotPlug SIG Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: What is the HotPlug SIG?The HotPlug SIG is a forum for developers to address the special issues related to the requirements based on OSDL initiatives and their unique usage models. The issues will vary as time goes on, but the HotPlug SIG's goal is to identify and resolve HotPlug (and Hot Remove) related technical inhibitors to Linux adoption in the Data Center, Desk Top, or Carrier Grade usage models. Q: Why is a HotPlug SIG needed?A HotPlug SIG is needed because no such forum currently exists to identify the gaps (code, testing, and documentation gaps) for the initiatives or to pull developers and test efforts together across project lines (like testing hotplug with 4k disk devices doing active I/O on a CPU just removed ). |
