Working Set

A collection of open source packages that are needed to create complete, functioning computing systems for the enterprise.

Open Source Package

Installable open source software. For the purposes of the Working Set SIG, packages are identified by the following:

• Package name
• Version number
• Source location
• Maintainer (if there is one)
• Technical support contact (if there is one)
• Mailing list

Other Terms

Binary Regression Test (BRT)

Regression test suites focused on specific proprietary binaries. Execution of the test suites is intended to identify successes and failures mapped to specific versions of software packages tested. A subset of packages in the binary build set will be monitored and the test will be executed whenever they have changes.
